What fabrics are safe for making a homemade baby wrap similar to the Moby?

I'm wanting to make a homemade wrap for my son and I need something that is breathable and safe for a newborn.

Anything that isn’t too stretchy is perfect. I use jersey knits for the most part since they are soft and usually 100% cotton.
You can really use anything though, I once used a silk/hemp blend for one wrap, and a cotton/wool blend for several winter wraps.
You want to avoid stretchy fabrics because they can result in safety hazards (knots coming undone, stretching next to the body, allowing baby to fall through) as well as distorting the fabric cosmetically. Also, even with warm fabrics, make sure they are not too thick, otherwise you will have a hard time making knots. Just stick to natural materials like wool or hemp for warmer cloths for the winter.
Loose crotchet but make sure not to use nylon threads or wool.
Moby Wraps are made out of %100 natural cotton.
